Begins December 5, 2009
Absarokee's "Wild West Snowflake Fest" for 2009 will be the best one yet. We are having all kinds of new events to go along with the traditional, and we are packing it all into one fun-filled day on Saturday, December 5th.
Starting at 3:30PM, there will be hay rides in downtown Absarokee. Get your picture taken with the Christmas Donkey at The Big Yellow House. All proceeds from the pictures will go to Skip's Kids' Place.
At 4:45PM under the tent will be the Crowning of the 2009 Prince and Princess (ages 2-4). Submit your 4x5 photo at the IGA before November 26th, to be in the running.
At 5:30PM, line up on the darkened streets of Absarokee to see the lighted parade. All floats this year must be lit and follow the "Wild West" theme, so we should be in for a real treat!
Immediately following the parade, look to the skies for our grand Fireworks Display. Then, as the church bells ring out, watch the whole town light up. Walking around the streets of town, enjoy burning barrels and warm drinks, while gazing in the windows of various businesses - decorated by elementary school students (the winner receives free passes to The Reef from 105.9 The BAR).
Don't forget to head over to the "Used to be a Barn Dance," sponsored by Nemont. 'The Usual Suspects' will be playing from 7-11PM, so bring along the whole family and dance under the tent!
Throughout the day, you can visit the Gingerbread House Contest and Silent Auction in Skip's Place and hopefully hear some carolers along the way!
The Annual Wreath Auction will be immediately following the High School's production of "The King and I" in the elementary school gym.
From 9:00AM to 3:00PM, don't forget to visit the Cobblestone Bazaar and do some Christmas shopping.
It should be a great day in Absarokee, so please come and visit!
