About AWARE
The Right Services, to the Right People, at the Right Time!
A.W.A.R.E. Inc., a private non-profit corporation, provides quality community-based services to persons with challenging mental, emotional, and in some cases, physical needs who would otherwise be served in a more restrictive setting…or perhaps would not be served at all.
We work to ensure that the people we serve achieve maximum independence, productivity, and integration into the community. We provide services that help individuals and families succeed in their communities, make sound life choices – where they will live and who they will interact with – and determine what they want out of life. It seems like a simple idea, but many of the people we work with have been left out of these life choices.
We work with them to eliminate the “can’ts”, “shouldn’ts”, and “don’ts” they too often face.We help people become active and vital members of their community with full rights and responsibilities. We place the emphasis on each individual’s opportunity for personal growth. We design our programs with that in mind.A.W.A.R.E. Inc. has over 900 employees.

"Absarokee is without any form of government as the town is not incorporated. The Civic Club fills that void by addressing problems and concerns presented by its citizens. The annual fundraiser for the Civic Club is the Stillwater Run which is held the first Saturday in October. By working with various departments, the Civic Club helped put in sidewalks, and provided snow removal on those sidewalks, participated in Earth Day to clean up the town, helps with the upkeep of Hawkins Park, and other activities to help make Absarokee a better place to live."

Bucket Brigade

Bucket Brigade is a non-profit organization with federal 501©(3) status.
Our vision is to bless and thoughtfully grant wishes of the terminally ill and their families, by engaging front line support from within their local communities and faith based organizations.
Bucket Brigade is a term coined to describe the process in which a community of folks come together in the midst of a fire disaster to quickly extinguish its flames.
One person would fill buckets with water, passing the filled buckets to the next person in line, who in turn continued passing them up the line until the water could be thrown onto the hot flames.
This was far more efficient that having everyone run back and forth from the water source to the flames with their own buckets. The bucket brigade line –up ensured a consistent flow of life saving water until the fire was finally put out, and it worked because the community and a common goal and purpose – put out the fire!
When someone is diagnose with a terminal illness, the effect of that illness can act like fire, spreading uncertainly, fear and loss of hope.
Bucket Brigade's purpose is to bless individuals of any age that have been stricken with terminal illness by assisting in the fulfillment of a hope, dream or wish.
Bucket Brigade passes the bucket to the local churches and community of it nominees, to provide a bucket brigade of hope and support that is ongoing.

Columbus Community Garden
Mission:
Through shared experience and education, the Columbus Community Garden promotes the art of gardening with organic methods and practices. We strive to cultivate community life by: planting the seeds for a sustainable future; growing healthy food and relationships; harvesting the fruits of our labor to feed ourselves and one another; and resting in the knowledge that what we are creating is of benefit for many.
History:
In 2010 a core group of three local women had the dream of creating a community garden. Through the approval of the City of Columbus, granted permission to put the Columbus Community Garden in Granite Peak Sports Complex.
Current Goals:
To purchase materials and build eighteen 4’ by 16’ raised beds that will become the garden spots, to purchase materials and install a plumbing system that will supply water to the community garden, and to purchase materials and install a fence around the perimeter of the community garden. To achieve these goals we are actively seeking grants, hosting various fundraisers and soliciting donations and support – monetary, materials and/or services- from local businesses and individuals.
The Columbus Community Garden group hosts lecture series on gardening called, Garden Gab. These lectures are open to the public and all proceeds from the cost of the lectures goes towards the development of the community garden.

Reed Point Community Club

The Reed Point Community Club, Inc. was formed many years ago. Our major fund raisers include the annual Great Montana Sheet Drive and feeding the participants of the annual Yellowstone River Boat Float.
Over the years we have raised thousands of dollars which have been used for many projects in our community.
Our latest venture is the community park on the corner of Old Highway 10 and Division Street here in Reed Point.
We are attempting to convert the old railroad depot, which we had moved to the property, into a community center.
Another of our favorite projects that just keeps on giving is the Christmas Decorations that are placed on every power pole in town for the community and visitors to enjoy throughout the holiday season.
We have helped the local volunteer fire department, the school, the town library and many of the different organizations at the school.
All donations are welcomed. We are a registered 501c3 tax exempt community service organization.
